1 December 2011 – Launch Date

31 Dec

The Wilmington Fund and The Preservation Trust are working together for Wilmington’s future.

The Preservation Trust is fortunate to have their 31 years of experience restoring buildings in Vermont to help in this process. As the near term goal of The Wilmington Fund is to address physical structures, our Fund will initially be under the 501(c)3 umbrella of  The Preservation Trust.

In conjunction with this initiative, we are creating The Wilmington Fund to continue the vision. The fund will promote and help finance businesses interested in being part of the village. We will use grants and low cost loans while making planning services available to these business owners. This will greatly improve their odds of success and the ultimate success of the town.

First quarter of 2012 we will be seeking business plans of those interested in opening a business in Wilmington.  Please send to 14 Castle Hill, Wilmington, VT, for review.

For those wishing to support this effort, please forward donations to The Preservation Trust of Vermont – Wilmington Fund:  https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?ID=198&AID=377

There are 2,000 local residents whose livelihoods will ultimately depend on the ability of Wilmington to grow employment and income opportunities. The town’s current average per capita income is below the national poverty level and long term this is not sustainable. Please join us in this crucial endeavor to restore the town.

Thank you so much for your consideration. We understand the many choices you have for your charitable contributions. We promise to be excellent stewards of the capital and hope to have many success stories to share with you in the near future.
